Tips & Tricks
The simple things that make all the difference!
We’ve all said it:
“No!” when our puppy jumps.
“No!” when they chew the rug.
“No!” when they bark at the window.
But here’s the truth…
“No” might stop the behavior in the moment, but it
doesn’t teach your dog what to do instead. And
that’s the key to long-lasting success.
Dogs thrive on clear, consistent direction. If we only tell them what not to do, we leave them confused and frustrated.
✅ Instead of “No,” try this:
· Jumping on guests? Teach “Sit to Greet”
· Barking at the window? Teach “Go to Place” or “Look at Me”
· Chewing shoes? Redirect to a chew toy and praise that choice
It’s as simple as this:
Interrupt ➡ Redirect ➡ Reinforce the Right Choice
Your dog wants to please you—they just need help knowing how.
🐶 This week, replace “No!” with a calm redirection and praise the behavior you do want.
You’ll be amazed how quickly your dog catches on when they’re given the tools to succeed!
